Council meetings are open to the general public and take place at the Civic Centre, 9 Kellaway Avenue, Moonee Ponds (access is via Pascoe Vale Road entrance). There are two kinds of monthly meetings - Ordinary Meetings and Public Forums.
The Governance Local Law 2009 (doc, 1.13MB) outlines our formal meetings procedure to ensure Council decisions are made in an effective and efficient manner.
Our Council Chamber is fitted with a hearing assistance system. The system supports people with a hearing impairment to participate in meetings and other events held in the Council Chamber. For more information, please visit the In the Loop page.
Ordinary Meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month commencing at 6.30pm.
You can ask questions at our council meetings by completing a question form (doc, 43KB). This form must be lodged by 12pm on the day of the Ordinary Meeting.
A copy of the agenda for all Ordinary Meetings will be available on this page from late Friday afternoon before the scheduled meeting. The agenda will also be accessible via Wi-Fi in the Council Chamber on the night of the meeting.
Audio podcasts of Council's public meetings will be made available on this page.
For agendas and minutes from the past three years, visit the past agendas and minutes page.
On the third Tuesday of every month, Council hosts a Public Forum. In an informal setting, this session provides an opportunity for residents to play a more active role in civic matters.
Residents are invited to register to present or raise any issues or matters they would like to discuss with Councillors. In turn, Council may also make presentations to the community on upcoming projects or matters of interest.
The second part of Public Forum deals with questions without notice, allowing citizens to raise questions directly with Councillors.
The Public Forum commences at 6pm, and runs through until 6.45pm. If you would like to make a presentation, submit a public forum form (docx, 30KB) by 5pm on the Monday before the meeting. We will let you know after the submission closing time whether your presentation can be accommodated.
