Introduction to Drawing

Monday, 3 April
6:30pm – 8:30pm

This course focusses on technique development and is split into two fundamental elements of drawing: line and tone. The first half of the course offers a range of techniques that will develop each student’s ability to depict contours in a confident and accurate manner, whilst the second half of the course offers a range of techniques that will develop each student’s ability to create depth and mass in their drawings.

Ceramics

Tuesday, 4 April - Sold out

Thursday, 6 April
6:30pm – 8:30pm

This course will focus on clay hand-building techniques as a foundation for making small functional objects. Students will learn about clay types and applications, methods of forming including pinching, coiling and slab-building, simple decorating techniques and will have the opportunity to create a series of objects that will be fired and functional.

Watercolour: Beginners

Tuesday, 4 April
6:30pm – 8:30pm

This course will introduce students to the beautiful world of watercolour. Students will learn a series of techniques that will enhance their artistic skills and knowledge, while learning about some of the historical and contemporary applications of the medium. Students who are interested will be able to transition into the intermediate watercolour course, offered in the following term.

Watercolour: Intermediate

Thursday, 6 April
6:30pm – 8:30pm

The Intermediate course is a great continuation of the beginner’s watercolour course or ideal for those who want to further develop or improve their current skills. Throughout the eight week course, students will create several of their own pieces of artwork with the techniques they acquire during each class.

DSLR Photography

Wednesday, 5 April
6:30pm – 8:30pm

This course will teach the fundamentals of camera usage, as well as encouraging students to develop their own creative style. This course is designed to help develop the confidence to create beautiful images by using simple language and clear instruction. BYO camera and let the Incinerator Gallery know what model the camera is when booking.

Observational Acrylic Painting

Wednesday, 5 April
6:30pm – 8:30pm

This course will give students a comprehensive introduction to a variety of basic drawing and painting techniques, while working in a ‘draw what you see’ process. Using a range of three dimensional and two dimensional forms of inspiration, students will gain an understanding of form, tone and basic colour mixing methods.
