Let the kids explore their creative potential in these exciting, artist- led school holiday workshops at the Incinerator Gallery.

Natural Ink Making

Tuesday, 4 April

10am – 12pm - BOOKED OUT

1pm - 3pm - BOOKED OUT

Artist Chaco Kato will lead an experimental workshops in natural ink making using common, familiar materials from the kitchen such as spices, spinach, beetroot, honey, milk and coffee.

Everyone can get involved with using safe and well known methods of grinding, binding, squeezing and straining in a workshop involving the senses including touch, smell and event taste.

This workshop is a family activity. Only children need to be booked in through eventbrite, adults are free. Maximum 15 child per session.

Thick Gooey Sculptures

Tuesday, 4 April

1pm - 3pm - BOOKED OUT

A perfect hands on activity for those who don’t mind a bit of mess.

In this 2 hour workshop kids will learn how to mix thick batches of colourful paste using toilet paper and apply the special paper mache mix onto found objects.

Anything can be transformed into a sculpture!

Suitable for 9 – 12 year olds. Maximum 10 people per session.

Weaving with Recycled Materials

Wednesday, 5 April

Artist Chaco Kato introduces kids to a DIY weaving system using simple and accessible items such as match boxes, card board boxes and twigs.

Kids will learn how weaving works, as well as how to build their own simple loom and shuttle to create a few different pieces of fabric art using wool and recycled materials.

Suitable for 9 – 12 year olds. Maximum 15 people per session.

Painting objects with magical mixture

Wednesday, 5 April

10am – 12pm - BOOKED OUT

1pm - 3pm - BOOKED OUT

 Kids will learn how to mix their own batch of thick gooey mixture to paint and decorate with using a range of different ingredients including glitter, sand and confetti.

Suitable for 4 – 8 year olds. Maximum 10 people per session.

Colourful Kites Workshop

Thursday, 6 April

10am – 12pm - BOOKED OUT

1pm - 3pm - BOOKED OUT

Children and their carers will work together in this unique workshop as they construct and decorate their own kite.

With tassels, glitter, stickers and streamers included to create the most vibrant and eye-popping kite ever. What’s more, you’ll be creating these kites almost entirely from recycled materials! 

This workshop is a family activity.  Only children need to be booked in through eventbrite, adults are free. Maximum 20 people per session.

Workshops are $17.50 per child with materials included unless otherwise listed.

Arty Tales - Early Learning

The Incinerator Gallery’s popular Arty Tales is back in 2017!

The monthly early learning program introduces 3 to 5 year olds to the inspiring world of art and allows them to develop their inner artist within a dynamic space.

Parents and children will join Beth Martin and Emily Paterson as they share stories that are inspired by the diverse artworks in the gallery, followed by simple art activities.

There is a limited capacity of 15 children per class. The cost is $5.50 per child, carers are free and must accompany child. Morning tea and refreshments are provided.

Bookings are essential.
