Registration for kindergarten in 2018

Places for three and four year old kindergarten at Council and participating community managed centres are allocated through the Central Registration Service.

We accept registrations from 20 March 2017. For the best chance of getting a place at your preferred kindergarten, apply by 30 June 2017. Registrations are still accepted after 30 June 2017 and will be processed after the initial round of offers.

Council has a new Central Registration Online Portal for 2018 registrations. This is the quickest and preferred method of registration.

The portal is available for families registering with Moonee Valley for the first time. Families with a 3 year old child/children currently placed for 2017 will be contacted when the portal is available to submit a registration for 2018. This process will not affect your chance of obtaining a place at a 4 year old kindergarten, an application received on June 30 has the same chance as one received on March 20.

Contact the Central Registration Team if you believe an account should exist but you don’t have the details or if you have previously had a child registered through the Central Registration Service but do not have a portal log in.

To register your child online visit centralregistration.mvcc.vic.gov.au

This is the quickest and preferred method of registration.

If you are unable to apply via the portal, please use the registration form (pdf, 420KB) or contact Central Registration at kinderenrol@mvcc.vic.gov.au or on 9243 8888.

Registering online

  •  When registering online you will need to create an account and will be required to have electronic copies of all the relevant supporting documents to complete the registration. After the registration is submitted, you will receive an email confirming the registration.
  •  You will be able to view your child’s current registration details, add or withdraw registrations, update their details as required, including nominated service preferences, respond to kindergarten offers and make online enquiries.
If you have submitted a 2018 registration form by email, mail or in person you do not need to register through the online portal. A portal account will be made available to you.
Please see the 2018 Central Registration Service information booklet (pdf, 1.65MB) for further information. The booklet is also available in hard copy at the Civic Centre and participating kindergartens

Administration fee payment

A non-refundable fee of $35 is payable for each registration form. Payments can be made online by cheque, money or credit card.

Exemption from this administrative fee is provided if the child or parent has an eligible concession card/visa.
