Young writers are invited to use images and stories to spark creative ways to write about the realities of World War One and enter the competition to win great prizes.

The competition is open to secondary school students in years 8 and 9 who live in or attend a school in Moonee Valley City Council. All entries are to be submitted electronically between 24 February and 31 March.

Anyone aged 10-18 is welcome to learn basic knitting over 4 one hour workshops. The workshops will be run by the experts from the Niddrie Craft Connect group. We aim to produce knitted squares which will be made into blankets and donated to KOGO (Knit One, Give One) for people in need. Please bring 8 ply wool and a set of no. 4 needles, and remember, knitting is for guys too! Free, bookings necessary.
