Gold Class movie tickets

  1. This competition opens on Monday, 7 September and will close at 5pm on Friday, 30 October 2015.
  2. Entrants must fully complete the online survey at mvcc.vic.gov.au/keepMVmoving, or complete and return the paper-based survey to Council within the timeframe.
  3. Only one entry per person.
  4. The winning entry will be chosen at random.
  5. The prizes offered are three pairs of Village Cinemas Gold Class movie tickets, to be given to three different prize winners.
  6. The winners will be notified in writing via the supplied email address. If the winner does not respond within 7 days, another winner will be drawn and notified.
  7. The winners will be announced within 14 days of the draw closing.
  8. We will announce the winners names on Council’s website at mvcc.vic.gov.au/keepMVmoving
  9. Council employees, Councillors, their immediate family (including siblings, spouse, children and grandchildren) are ineligible to win a prize.
  10. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

 

Art competition

Selection criteria

Take a photo, paint a picture or come up with something else.  Don’t worry if you don’t think of yourself as an artist either as we want to hear from everyone.

There are two categories to submit work in:

  1. ‘The transport in my community today’ – this is for works that identify areas of Moonee Valley’s transport infrastructure that you think need improving or if something new needs to be installed. 
  2. ‘The transport in my community in the future’ – this is for works that look at the transport needs of Moonee Valley in 10 years’ time and interpret your ideas through art.

Entry conditions

  • You have a connection to Moonee Valley i.e. you work, live, play or go to school in the area
  • We only accept 2D artworks (e.g. painting, photo) 
  • Works must be completed at the time of your submission. 
  • Works must be completed by a living artist.
  • Councillors and employees of Moonee Valley City Council or their immediate family (siblings, children, spouse and grandparents) are ineligible to enter.

Exhibition conditions

  • This competition opens on Monday, 7 September and will close on Friday, 30 October 2015.
  • Winning and shortlisted pieces will be displayed for one specified week at the Clocktower Café only if they are less than 60cm x 60cm and framed with D-rings on the back and if you choose to have your work exhibited
  • The exhibition is curated by us. 
  • The layout of the exhibition is determined by us
  • You are responsible for packaging and transporting or freighting your work to and from the Clocktower Café in the time period set by us
  • The work must be delivered and collected from the Clocktower Café within the time period set by us.
  • We will install and uninstall your work
  • Works and equipment must comply with Moonee Valley City Council occupational health and safety regulations.
  • All short-listed works will be insured for loss or damage by Moonee Valley City Council for the period of the exhibition.
  • Moonee Valley City Council will not be responsible for works not collected within the time period set by us unless by prior arrangement.

Images and marketing conditions

  • You will provide a print quality image (at least 1600 pixels wide at 300DPI) of the entered work with your entry.
  • We recognise that the authorship and copyright of works entered belongs to you.
  • Short-listed artists give permission for Moonee Valley City Council to use images of your work for marketing purposes associated with the respective Integrated Transport Plan and Road Safety Plan reviews, and for use in the final strategies.
  • Award winners grant Moonee Valley City Council a non-exclusive, perpetual copyright licence to reproduce images of the work for non-commercial purposes. 
  • We will attribute you as the author of your work when reasonably possible wherever it is reproduced.

Short-listing and judging

  • We select judges with appropriate credentials to make a critical assessment of the entries.
  • We short-list works based on the selection criteria outlined above. 
  • We reserve the right to accept or reject any works submitted for consideration on any grounds. 
  • Judging will be undertaken for adults, secondary school students and primary school students.
  • All decisions are final and individual feedback is not provided on outcomes. 
  • The winners will be notified in writing via the supplied email address. If the winner does not respond within seven days, another winner will be drawn and notified.
  • The winners will be announced within 14 days of the competition closing.
  • We will announce the winners names on Council’s website at mvcc.vic.gov.au/keepMVmoving

Submissions and payment

  • You can only submit one entry.
  • We only accept submissions using our online entry form.
  • You must submit image of your artwork with your application via the online form.
  • All information on submission of your application must be true; incorrect information may deem short-listed works ineligible.
