ANZAC Day liquor trading hours
Licensees are reminded that there is a general restriction on the supply of liquor by licensed premises between 3am and 12 noon on ANZAC Day each year.
An exemption from this restriction applies to:
- RSL clubs and sub-branches
- wineries
- residents and guests of residents in licensed premises, as well as guests of licensees
- liquor supplied by airlines aboard aircraft or by duty free travellers
- pre-retail licences
Late night trading venues such as nightclubs, pubs and bars that would normally supply alcohol between 3am and 12 noon are required to stop supplying liquor during this time.

Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR)
VCGLR has been established to as the independent statutory authority that administers Victoria's gambling and liquor laws.
The VCGLR will undertake an important role in the development of responsible gambling and liquor industries. It will do this through its licensing and compliance activities, and the provision of education and information about our regulatory practices and requirements.
VCGLR encourages relevant businesses to subscribe to their newsletter. It will be a key communication tool for the liquor industry and ensure that businesses are kept up-to date with news and events relating to the industry.
The creation of the VCGLR does not change the requirement to obtain and comply with a gambling or liquor license or permit.
