Gaming Position Paper

Gambling Position Paper Cover

The Gaming Position Paper (pdf, 634KB) will guide our planning and decision making of facilities that include gaming machines.

This policy document requires organisations who apply for a gaming venue licence or to increase gaming machines in an existing venue to survey the local community to provide their opinion on the venue and undertake a social impact assessment. The outcome of these activities will be considered by us when assessing the organisation’s application.

We are seeking to ease the negative impact of gaming machines on the local community. The aim is to ensure residents enjoyment of leisure activities, such as gaming machines while reducing the negative impacts such a gambling addiction.

We are currently undertaking further research to strengthen its policy position and will consider the inclusion of a Local Policy on Gaming in the Planning Scheme.
