Tell us about yourself

I am a long-term resident of the area, having grown up in Strathmore and been educated locally. I now reside in Essendon. I have worked within the municipality for the past ten years and have a background in finance. I am married with two young children.

What five words best describe you?

Dedicated, responsible, honest, hardworking, community spirited.

What do you hope to achieve in your term as Councillor?

I hope to achieve a more transparent Council where residents are represented, consulted and informed. Traffic and transportation is a major issue throughout Buckley Ward and Council needs to find ways to ease this ever constant problem.

I will advocate for better access and support for the disabled and aged throughout our municipality. We also need to be aware of the recent increase in the birth-rate and provide for this growth through increased childcare facilities and maternal health centres.

I am also concerned about high density development encroaching into our residential areas and Council needs strong policies in place to stop such development. The great Australian Dream has always been to own your own house and this dream needs to be protected.

What do you think are Moonee Valley’s greatest strengths?

Moonee Valley has many strengths – beautiful parks and streetscapes, the people, the shopping, entertainment precincts and the arts, the many community groups and sporting clubs, its close proximity to the city and Tullamarine Airport – the list could go on. Moonee Valley is a wonderful place to live – we really are quite lucky to be a part of it.
