Council Plan

Council Plan

Every four years, we set out our strategic direction and priorities through the Council Plan.

The current Council Plan 2009-2013 (pdf, 1MB) came into effect on 1 July 2009 and was developed in line with the Community Vision: Moonee Valley 2020 - Living together, living well.

The Plan includes objectives, outcomes and strategies to help us achieve our long-term vision. It also acts as a framework to guide all our activities for the four-year period.

What is our plan?

The Plan identifies six strategic objectives:

  • a creative City with connected communities
  • a healthy environment and a sustainable City
  • a City providing smart and accessible transport that connects people
  • a City for investment and growth
  • a well-planned and managed City
  • a dynamic, responsive organisation

Each year, two sections of the Council Plan are reviewed and updated to support the achievements of the Council Plan. For 2011/12, the revised documents are: Key Strategic Activities and Strategic Resource Plan (pdf, 231KB).

Why do we need a plan?

Our planning framework ensures a consistent and clear strategic approach for the organisation, and supports accountable and transparent reporting of achievements towards community goals.
