Review of Eight Heritage Overlay Precincts in Flemington, Ascot Vale, Moonee Ponds and Essendon.
We have completed the review of eight heritage precincts. This review was adopted on 19 April 2011. These precincts were previously assessed by a heritage study in 2004.
We are now consulting with the community on the changes to the heritage overlay based on the recommendations of the review. The heritage overlay is part of Planning Scheme Amendment C109 (Amending Heritage Overlay Boundaries).
The key findings and recommendations of the Review include:
- Extending some precincts by placing additional properties with heritage significance under the Heritage Overlay.
- Removing some places from the Heritage Overlay precincts which do not warrant protection.
- Undertaking further work for places requiring further assessment.
