A new park for Strathaird Reserve

Straithaird Park 1

Strathmore will get a new park thanks to funding from the State Government’s Local Parks Program.

Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change Lily D’Ambrosio joined Moonee Valley Mayor Cr Cam Nation at Strathaird Reserve to announce $1.3 million funding for a Pocket Park.

Cr Rose Iser, Deputy Mayor Cr Katrina Hodgson, State Member for Essendon Danny Pearson, Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change Lily D’Ambrosio, Mayor Cr Cam Nation, Cr Samantha Byrne, Cr John Sipek, Cr Ava Adams, CEO Helen Sui.

The money will be used to buy a parcel of land on Strathaird Street and transform it into a pocket park.

This exciting development means the park will remain in community hands for years to come.

Creating beautiful open spaces is one of the aims of MV2040, our long term vision to make Moonee Valley a great place to live, work and play and this announcement is another step towards that goal.

We’ll keep the Strathmore community updated as the project progresses.
