The festive season has arrived and we’re excited to bring dazzling illuminations and pop-ups to streets and local retail shopping strips around Moonee Valley, providing much needed support to local traders.
Unfortunately, our beloved Carols in Queens Park annual event will not be going ahead this year.
While restrictions have eased to allow for bigger events this summer, our teams require a much longer lead time to produce the high quality, safe and entertaining carols experience that our community loves. Instead, we’re excited to bring a series of pop-ups and illuminations to local areas while carols are on hold until next year.
Roving projections will twinkle in nine different locations around Moonee Valley and you can support local businesses by grabbing a bite to eat while you check out the illuminations. Get involved in kids’ activities or our selfie competition and if you’re lucky be surprised by our series of pop-up performances.
Our activity centers, roads, retail and hospitality strips will be vibrant hubs creating opportunities for you to explore the neighbourhood and support local traders this festive season.
The lighting artists behind White Night, The Electric Canvas, will deliver a series of creative illuminations to Moonee Valley in the lead up to Christmas. The roving projections will be moving around town every five days so make sure you check where they will be next!
While you admire the lights and illuminations dotted around our neighbourhood, tap your feet to local performers and grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants, bars, late-night-eateries, hotels and pubs!
Kids can find the hidden moon near our light shows and get creative with our downloadable activity sheet.
It wouldn’t be Christmas without surprises!! Keep your eyes peeled for pop-up performances and carols choruses decking the halls and filling the air with festive jingles!
We’re looking forward to visiting a range of community hubs in Moonee Valley and giving back to local areas this holiday season.
The whole family can get involved in our selfie competition and win one of five prizes.
There’s a huge calendar of events happening in our community this festive season, find what’s on near you by visiting our Christmas is Here page.
