Don’t dump: help keep Moonee Valley clean during COVID-19

Hard waste images for on-call service 2019

We’re ramping up patrols of parks and reserves after a spike in reports of dumped rubbish across our City.

Council’s Cleansing team was called to two reports of discarded building materials at A.J Davis Reserve in Airport West earlier this month.

The cases are part of an overall increase in the amount of dumped rubbish reports to Council during the COVID-19 State of Emergency.

From our end – we’re cleaning up, and increasing our patrols to enforce Council’s Activities and General Amenities Local Law 2018 and the Environment Protection Act 1970. When necessary we’ll also work with Victoria Police.

But we still need your help, as residents, to keep our City clean and beautiful.

If you have hard rubbish that needs collecting, give our Council customer service a call on 3 9243 8888 or visit https://hardwaste.mvcc.vic.gov.au/.

Eligible properties are offered two free hard rubbish collections per year and we’ll come and pick up items including mattresses, household appliances such as TVs or computers, white goods and bundled branches and pruning.

Out Transfer Station also remains open*, but is no longer accepting cash payments so bring along your bank card.

As always please adhere to the reasons to be out under Stage 3 COVID-19 restrictions and help slow the spread.

*Please note: The Transfer Station will be closed on ANZAC DAY, Saturday, 25 April 2020.
