Easter in isolation – your guide to a successful long weekend at home

Easter is looking a little different this year with the Stage 3 coronavirus restrictions in place.

We know you may not be able to take that long weekend getaway you had planned. Or even host the lunch time visit with the extended family.

With everyone across Australia being encouraged to stay home, we still think there are ways to enjoy Easter.

Digital family lunches

You could still catch up with the family, just do it digitally! Plan a Facetime or why not even look to schedule a Zoom to include everyone in the Easter lunch. You can still all set the table (in different houses) and sit down for a family meal – over Zoom! You’ll just have to be careful of the family all trying to talk at once!

Easter egg hunts

Get a bit creative with the an Easter Egg hunt in your back yard, or indoors for the little ones. Try and think of some fun hiding spots to keep them entertained. This can even be good for those who are young at heart!

Or following on from the teddy bear hunts that were popping up around Melbourne, why not take some inspiration for New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinta Ardern and encourage your neighbourhood to pop Easter eggs in the windows!

Listen to an audiobook

With some extra time on your hands over the long weekend you could settle back with a good audiobook. Did you know can simultaneously loan some of your favourite titles through BorrowBox.

Enjoy an Easter feast

Or challenge yourself and learn to cook something new. Demarias are now offering drive through fruit and vegetable boxes from Moonee Ponds.

Or you can save yourself the hassle of cooking and order a feast from one of our local restaurants.
