Gabby Steel is a singer-songwriter with a talent for crafting soulful, memorable songs that blend folk, indie pop, blues, and soul. With powerful vocals and honest, evocative lyrics, Gabby has carved out a space as one of Australia’s most compelling emerging artists. Her music reflects a rare authenticity, and her live performances reveal a captivating storyteller with a natural stage presence. Based in Geelong, Gabby is a multi-instrumentalist who continually experiments with sound, bringing depth and texture to her recordings and live shows. Her debut self-titled EP, released in 2019, tackled weighty themes including mental health, gun violence, and bullying—earning her a reputation for fearlessly addressing complex issues through music. In 2022, Gabby released Scuttle, followed by her critically acclaimed EP The Urge Will Pass. Featuring her rock band, the EP was described by Forte Mag as “a stellar release that firmly establishes Gabby Steel as a powerhouse songwriter.” With each project, she continues to evolve her sound and grow her fanbase. Gabby has performed on some of Australia’s most iconic stages, including the main stage of Port Fairy Folk Festival and Queenscliff Music Festival. She has also supported leading artists such as Tex Perkins, Kate Ceberano, Owen Campbell, and Karen Lee Andrews. With a new EP set for release in 2025, Gabby is once again heading back into the studio- ready to deliver another collection of music that speaks straight to the heart.
