First splashes enjoyed at Keilor East Leisure Centre

First Splashes Enjoy Keilor East Leisure Centre

The state-of-the-art Keilor East Leisure Centre swung into operation on Friday, 22 October with the long-awaited first patrons making use of the outdoor pool.

Mayor Cam Nation and Moonee Valley Councillors were joined by The Hon Ben Carroll MP to celebrate and welcome first guests to the newest MOVE facility, as restrictions eased in Melbourne.

The facility includes an impressive 50-metre heated outdoor pool, 25-metre lap pool, learn to swim pool, dedicated warm water program pool, spa, steam room and sauna, indoor water playground, café and seating area, gym, group fitness and spin studios, childcare and accessible family change rooms.

It has also created more than 130 employment opportunities for members of the community.

Health and wellbeing play a huge role to many Moonee Valley residents and something that has been missed during lockdown.
The community can get moving by getting a MOVE membership that gives members access to three facilities across Moonee Valley with one membership.

The outdoor pool is now open for bookings with the remainder of the centre including all indoor spaces and café, scheduled to open in line with Phase C of the National Plan, anticipated for 29 October.
