There is good news for parents of four-year-old children in Moonee Valley, with the announcement that funded four-year-old kindergarten programs will be free for 2021.
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has announced that almost $170 million will be committed in the next budget in a measure he says is designed to support families, and in particular women returning to work.
Subsidies will be given to early childhood services that provide funded four-year-old kindergarten programs, such as those operated by Moonee Valley City Council.
The subsidy will apply for all four-year-olds attending sessional kindergarten.
Children enrolled in kinder programs at a long day-care centre and unfunded programs for three-year-old children will also receive a contribution of funding from the State Government – details of which have not yet been provided.
In the State Government’s scheduled roll-out of the Early Childhood Reform package, Moonee Valley will not be eligible for funded three-year-old kindergarten until 2022.
More information on the fee relief will be posted on our website and sent to parents from our Kindergarten team in due course.
