We are building the Moonee Valley of tomorrow, today! These are some of the infrastructure projects recently completed or currently underway across Moonee Valley.

Projects underway

East Keilor leisure Centre

Planning for Moonee Valley’s largest capital works project ever is well underway with the new state-of-the-art leisure centre due in 2021.

Status: Underway

Boeing Baseball Hitting Cage

New indoor hitting facility to accommodate baseball hitting and pitching. The facility will be complete with netting and a synthetic surface.

Status: Planning phase

Expected time of completionMarch 2020

Essendon Rowing Club Female Change Room Upgrade

This project is focused on upgrading the female change rooms to create more female friendly showers, upgrade amenities and increase the space for the growing Essendon Rowing Club female members.

Status: Planning phase

Expected time of completion: finalisation of further work to be confirmed

Aberfeldie Park West Sports Field Lighting

New sports field lighting to be installed on the Aberfeldie Park West Oval. This will allow for sporting clubs to train at the facility during winter.

Status: In progress

Expected time of completion: December 2019

Overland Reserve Pavilion

New two story pavilion that will include four change rooms and large community space. The pavilion will include a deck that will offer fantastic views over the two ovals.

Status: Planning phase

Expected time of completion: July 2020

Cross Keys Ground Works

We are committed to improving the quality of sports grounds. The Cross Keys Reserve ground works include new drainage, irrigation and turf. This project also includes the installation of sports field lighting on the junior field at the eastern end of Cross Keys Reserve and the construction of a cricket net facility.

Status: In progress

Expected time of completion: May 2020

Recently completed projects

Maribyrnong Park sporting infrastructure improvements

Improvements include new cricket nets, sports field lighting replacement, temporary modular change rooms and sports field lighting replacement.

Boeing Reserve Pavilion

A new pavilion to provide first class baseball facilities, designed for future expansion and to meet the growing needs of the sport.

 Buckley Park Pavilion

This project includes two new change rooms as well as an upgrade to existing change rooms, amenities, office and storage facilities.

Fairbairn Park Oval Works

New irrigation system installed across all eight ovals and significant ground re-profiling works on oval eight.

Ormond Park Pavilion

This upgraded pavilion includes upsized change rooms and a new larger social space which will accommodate future demand for the facility.

Cross Keys Pavilion

A unique design build project with the pavilion being modular construction. This two story multipurpose facility is being built off site then transported and assembled onsite.
