New Kindergarten Facility to be Built in Essendon

Moonee Valley City Council welcomes the Victorian Government’s decision to build a new kindergarten facility in Essendon.

The Victorian Government will fund two kindergarten rooms, as well as administrative facilities and outdoor play areas to support the roll out of Three-Year-Old Kindergarten.

The project is expected to offer 66 additional kindergarten places in the municipality when it opens in 2023.

Moonee Valley Mayor Samantha Byrne said we are delighted to have more kindergarten places for our growing city.

“Families in the Essendon and surrounding areas will have more options for kindergarten that will support their children’s learning and development”.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to work with the Victorian Government to expand the delivery of this important service” said Cr Byrne.

The project aligns with Council’s commitments in the MV2040 and Council Plan to support local families to give children the best possible start in life and increase access to services and facilities.
