Phone towers

You may have heard some chatter in the community about the phone towers at Walter Street Reserve in Ascot Vale. Well, here’s the latest.

Walter Street Reserve is currently home to two telecommunication towers which support mobile phone providers Vodaphone, Telstra and Optus.

Some of our community have been rallying for these towers to be moved. We’ve heard your concerns, which is part of the reason we’re setting up the Walter Street Reserve Telecommunications Working Group.

The working group will be tasked with considering alternative solutions to the current positions of these towers. We’ll soon be taking registrations from people who would like to join the working group.

In the meantime, if you’re keen to keep up to date with the project or are interested in joining the working group, sign up to our newsletter below.

In the coming weeks we’ll have more details about how the group will operate, its roles and responsibilities and how to apply.
