Last year, when local businesses were desperately trying to rebound from the hardships of the pandemic restrictions, Melbourne Social Co used a grant from Council to offer free social media training.
This year the task for many businesses is to rebuild and reset, adapting to the realities of the ‘Covid-normal’ era.
Melbourne Social Co is using a Council COVID-19 Recovery Grant to run another free event. This time they are offering professional photography.
On Thursday 18 February local businesses can attend the Melbourne Social Co studio in Puckle Street, Moonee Ponds, to have images of products and services captured and ready for promotional use on websites and social media.
“We had a really positive response to our 2020 workshops from local business owners,” Shelley Friesen, Director of Melbourne Social Co. said. “It was such a pleasure to be able to share our expertise on navigating times of crisis on social media.”
Shelley said that through chatting with local business owners in those 2020 workshops it became apparent that many lacked the resources or know-how to create professional imagery and content.
“Our response was to come up with the free photography sessions for any business that has a product to sell. We can use the session to create some really beautiful imagery for them to use on their website and on social media.
“But if you are a service-based business you can still join in! We can use the session to take headshots and images of you working away – so please reach out to us either way and let us help you get creative.
“We’re only a month in, but already 2021 is looking really positive. We get to work with lots of different businesses and industries as a marketing agency, and it’s exciting to see our clients doing so well at the start of the new year.
“And now that we’re heading in to the office more and more as a team, it’s also great to see witness first hand people returning to Puckle Street. There’s a buzz in the air.”
