Our libraries are more than books. In Moonee Valley you can book a room or computer, listen to music, exercise, print and photocopy, recycle, borrow seeds for a garden, learn new skills, join a book club and so much more.


Libraries update

Moonee Valley Libraries Service Update - Tuesday, 27 July 2021

  • All libraries will reopen for their regular operating hours
  • Capacity limits apply at all branches
    • Ascot Vale Library – 10 people
    • Avondale Heights Library and Learning Centre – 100 people
    • Flemington Library – 50 people
    • Niddrie Library – 30 people
    • Sam Merrifield Library – 100 people
  • Due to limits on gatherings, in person programming will not go ahead. Online programming will continue to be provided.
  • Return chutes are open


Yes, once you receive notification that an item is being held, you can collect from your selected library branch. 

Yes, Library to Your Door connects eligible older or vulnerable users with a library staff member who curates and sends out a personalised collection of books to you.

Yes, return chutes are now open 24/7 at all five library braches.

Online programming will continue and can be accessed via the Library CatalogueFacebook and Youtube

Yes! Visit Join Online to sign up for a library membership online. Membership is free and available to all community members.

If you don’t have a PIN or can't remember it, you can reset it by logging in to your account via our catalogue

In My Account go to the Personal Information tab, scroll down and you'll find Change Pin.
