Ascot Vale Leisure Centre is temporarily closed to comply with Stage 3 restrictions imposed by the Victorian State Government due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At this time we are complying with the Victorian State Government directives for gyms, pools and leisure centres to remain closed. The health and safety of our community is the top priority.
Council will continue to monitor public health directives from Victoria’s Chief Health Officer and consider appropriate options for the site in line with restriction levels. We will communicate with members when we have more information around our reopening when available.

The centre is closed due to the Victorian State Government directives for gyms, pools and leisure centres. Given current community transmission rates in metropolitan Melbourne, it is unclear when and under what conditions these restrictions will be lifted. Council will continue to maintain the asset and monitor the situation. This includes options for service delivery at the site subject to future public health directives.

Your membership is suspended free of charge. If you have concerns about your membership, please email AVLC@mvcc.vic.gov.au or 03 9243 8888.

As part of MV2040’s vision for a healthy city (as well as our Aquatic Leisure Centre Plan 2014-23), the renaming of the leisure facilities and signage is being developed to enhance access to and promote use of our leisure facilities.
The consistent and improved branding will create greater awareness of Council's programs and services, encouraging healthy lifestyle choices and promote residents to be active, physically, mentally and socially. Therefore, Council is proposing to rename four leisure centre facilities.
The renaming went out for public consultation, and Council is currently assessing community feedback.
We will remain in touch with members about any changes to the name of Ascot Vale Leisure Centre.

Ascot Vale Leisure Centre has always been, and remains a Council-owned facility. We enter into a contract with a leisure provider to run the facility, and Belgravia Leisure has held the contract since 2015. Council’s contract with Belgravia Leisure has concluded and given the current operating environment, Council will maintain the asset and continue to monitor the situation. The conclusion of the contract is in no way a reflection of the work of Belgravia Leisure, with whom Council has worked in partnership over the past 4 and half years.
