There’s no doubt Storytime is a favourite amongst local families and one of the most popular activities on offer in our libraries.
We also know that for some kids, Storytime can be a challenge. The noise, the numbers and the occasional organised chaos can all just be a little too much.
But we don’t want anyone to miss out, so we’re trialling Quiet Storytime this month in Sam Merrifield Library.
The pilot program will see us offer small group sessions tailored to the needs of kids with autism or those who need additional support.
Quiet Storytime is a structured approach with modified sound and lighting where possible, and we’ll use tactile objects and a calming sensory tent to support special needs children.
What a great way to nurture your child’s Storytime journey!
Quiet Storytime will be held on the first Thursday of each month, starting 5 September at 2pm.
Up to 10 kids per group and bookings are essential.
