Two new parks announced

website dog park

Good news for local residents, both human and canine, with the announcement of two new parks, supported by the Victorian Government through the Local Parks Program.

Pattison Street Pocket Park in Moonee Ponds has received funding of $740,000.

The Cliff Whitworth Reserve Dog Park in Emerald Street, Essendon West has been funded to the tune of $275,000.

The parks were selected for funding based on their accessibility by road, public transport, and linkages to bike and walking tracks.

When complete, the pocket park will include landscaping, greenery, seating and shade. It will function as a gateway between the Moonee Ponds Creek Trail and our municipality.

The purpose-built dog park will include designated ball play areas, rockeries, education and agility equipment, and seating.

Both projects will be completed in 2022.
