Bunjil’s Marroun Healing Ceremony

Healing Ceremony Moonee Valley CIty Council

We’re committed to Respect (Gahgook), Recognition (Ngarngaith) and Relationships (Djerri) through Reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and acknowledge that January 26 can cause pain to members of our community.

Annually we hold the Bunjil’s Marroun Healing Ceremony and invite community members to  learn about and experience what the day means to our Traditional Owners.

Healing ceremony Monee Valley City Council

This year the ceremony will be held at Woodlands Park Essendon at 5pm on Wednesday 26 January and will include an Acknowledgment of History by Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Elder Aunty Dianne Kerr, poetry by Aunty Gail Smith and her granddaughter Tienna, a reflection from Uncle Jack Charles and performance by the Nhanbu Togip dance group.

We hope to see your there!
