Join the active ageing reference group

The Active Ageing Reference Group is responsible for providing advice and recommendations as representatives of the broader community. It will provide insight into the issues impacting Council’s ageing population.

Community transport service

Community Transport provides transport service for older people, people experiencing physical or financial barriers to accessing transport and those with limited access to public transport. The service helps eligible residents attend medical appointments, shop for groceries, participate in social and community activities and maintain their independence while living at home.

Regular shopping destinations include:

  • Keilor Road, Niddrie
  • Airport West
  • Moonee Ponds
  • Milleara Mall

Eligibility for community transport services

Hiring a community bus

Council has minibuses available for local community organisations to hire for activities and programs that directly benefit Moonee Valley residents.

Council currently has 4 buses available for hire, which can hold 12 people, including the driver.
