North Essendon Local Area Traffic Management study

With careful consideration and analysis of all community feedback on the draft LATM plans, a final LATM plan was prepared, and presented to Council on 14 November 2017. The LATM plan included a traffic management plan and a parking management plan.

Council adopted the North Essendon LATM on 14 November 2017 and resolved to do the following:

1. Adopt for implementation the final North Essendon Traffic Management Plan (pdf, 153KB)
2. Adopt for implementation the final North Essendon Parking Management Plan (pdf, 173KB)
3. Note the additional traffic and parking issues raised by the local community (pdf, 377KB)
4. Refer significant works within the final Traffic Management Plan and final Parking Management Plan to future Capital Works Budget funding consideration
5. Advise owners and occupiers within the North Essendon LATM Study area of the outcome of this report

Please note that the Final Parking Management Plan only includes streets where parking changes have been adopted by Council and where further community consultation is required.

Study process

Recent tasks undertaken as part of the North Essendon LATM Study process:

• November 2017: a report was presented to Council on the final North Essendon LATM plan at the Ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday, 14 November 2017.
• September 2017: Working Group meeting (TRIM link 17/304782) held to discuss the outcome of the community consultation and recommended final LATM plans.
• August 2017: an independent consultant considered all feedback on the draft LATM plans, and provided recommendations for the final LATM plans.
• June/July 2017: Every property in the LATM Study area was invited to provide feedback on the draft Traffic Management Plan and draft Parking Management Plan
• May 2017: at the Ordinary Meeting on Tuesday, 23 May 2017 Council endorsed the draft Traffic Management Plan (pdf, 150KB) and draft Parking Management Plan (pdf, 200KB) for community consultation.
• February 2017: Working Group meeting held to discuss the draft traffic and parking management plans. All feedback was considered and the draft plans updated.
• November 2016 – January 2017: An independent consultant considered all feedback and put together the draft traffic and parking management plans for the LATM.
• November 2016: Working Group meeting (TRIM link 17/304776) held to discuss the draft traffic and parking management plans. All feedback was considered and the draft plans updated.
• August 2016: Every property in the North Essendon LATM study area (png, 480KB) was invited to provide feedback to Council on issues, concerns and opportunities around traffic and parking in the local area.
