Project update 29 May 2026
Site Plans for Milleara Gardens Kindergarten (PDF) have now been finalised. The project remains on track for opening in January 2027.
Demolition is due to begin in June and residents will receive communication in coming weeks prior to this starting.
Should you have any concerns during this time please contact the kindergarten redevelopment team.
To facilitate construction of the new kindergarten, a number of trees are required to be removed as part of the approved development works. Council acknowledges the importance of maintaining and increasing canopy cover and has planned substantial new tree planting within the local area to help offset canopy loss associated with the project and support long-term urban forest outcomes. The VSBA will replace all removed trees, and Council will contribute to planting offsets. Council’s Parks and Gardens and Open Space teams are in the early stages of considering tree and planting plans.
Features and upgrades
The redevelopment will deliver improvements including:
- 3 rooms to replace the current single room
- capacity for 66 more children
- a Maternal Child Health suite.
