E-rideables (including e-scooters and e-bikes) are growing in popularity. Convenient, sustainable and less expensive than a car, e-rideables are a convenient mode of transport for short journeys. But like any vehicle, safety rules apply.

A webinar called “Ready to ride webinar: Parenting in the age of e-rideables” is proudly presented by Moonee Valley City Council along with Anglicare’s ParentZone, Victoria Police, the Transport Accident Commission and the Department of Transport and Planning.

The Deputy Mayor of Moonee Valley, Councillor Phil Burn, said it’s crucial that our young riders have the knowledge to ride responsibly and safely.

“In addition to supporting cheap, sustainable and independent transport, parents and other caregivers can be a crucial source of support and information for young people around e-rideables.” Cr Burn said.

“The webinar is a great opportunity to hear from experts on navigating risks and peer pressure and to share your own insights about e-rideables, the law, and supporting safe choices.”
