Moonee Valley City Council is urging community members to provide feedback on its Draft Disability Action Plan 2024-2025.

The draft plan aims to build upon the successes and experiences of the current Disability Action Plan 2014-2023, which concludes later this year.

City of Moonee Valley Mayor, Councillor Pierce Tyson, said the Moonee Valley community had made considerable progress towards creating a more inclusive and accessible environment for people with disabilities.

“The Draft Disability Action Plan 2024-2025 is a testament to the collaborative efforts between the Disability Advisory Committee, Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung Elders, and various industry stakeholders,” said Mayor Tyson.

“Your feedback will directly contribute to creating a more inclusive and accessible Moonee Valley, empowering individuals with disabilities to fully participate in our community.”

Community input is a crucial aspect of this process. This is an important opportunity for the community to comment on the current barriers and challenges faced by people in Moonee Valley with disabilities, their carers and loved ones.

“We want to hear from you about whether the actions proposed in this plan will contribute to an improved future in Moonee Valley for people with disabilities and their carers,” said Mayor Tyson.

“Help us shape a brighter and more inclusive future for Moonee Valley. Together, we can build a community where every individual can thrive.”
