Supporting our local businesses through lockdown

Shop Local and Support a local Moonee Valley

With Victoria in another lockdown, our local businesses need everyone’s support more than ever.

Moonee Valley Mayor, Cr Cam Nation said many of our local businesses were just starting to get back on their feet, and now we are in lockdown again, they need us to continue to shop, eat and play locally.

“Moonee Valley is home to many fantastic restaurants, cafes, and retail outlets, so we must all do our bit to back them during this time.

“Whether it is ordering take-out from your local restaurant, or using click-and-collect services for businesses able to remain open, I urge all residents to do their bit.

“Visit mvcc.vic.gov.au/business-guide for a list of Moonee Valley businesses that are still open. I encourage businesses owners to add their details to this page if they haven’t already done so.

“Please continue to be COVIDsafe, wear your masks correctly and stay 1.5 metres away from others where possible,” said Mayor Cr Nation.

Under the circuit-breaker lockdown, general retail, hairdressing, beauty, personal care services are closed and hospitality businesses are open for take-away only.

Residents and local business owners are encouraged to check mvcc.vic.gov.au/covid-19 regularly for information updates, as well as the Victorian Department of Health website.

Council is continuing to support local businesses through our hardship policy and our grants program. Visit mvcc.vic.gov.au/covidsupport for information.
