Summer in the Valley – Fun for everyone!

Summer in the Valley Web 2022

There is something for everyone to enjoy this February and March, with a series of free events celebrating the Moonee Valley community, culture, music and art as part of Summer in the Valley.

There will be a series of highlight events, including the return of the Artist and Makers market at the Incinerator Gallery, a Family Fun Day at Avondale Heights Library and Learning Centre and a Neighbour Day picnic at the beautiful Queens Park in Moonee Ponds.

Music lovers can also come together and enjoy a twilight concert at Lincoln Park in Essendon or even some soothing Jazz music at Woodlands Park. Centreway Plaza in Keilor East will be transformed into an open music venue, where locals can enjoy some great entertainment and visit surrounding cafes and restaurants for a bite to eat!

There will also be a number of pop-up entertainment and outdoors spaces across the city.

Moonee Valley Mayor Cr Samantha Byrne said that Summer in the Valley is a great way to bring the community together, especially after what has been an incredibly challenging last two years.

“We are so excited to be able to bring the community a series of fun and exciting free events across Moonee Valley, particularly after such a rollercoaster of a year that it has been for many locals and businesses”, Mayor Byrne said.

“Summer in the Valley is a celebration of all the things that make our city such a wonderful, vibrant place – our many cultures, music, arts, entertainment and spending time with loved ones and neighbours.”
