Ascot Vale Library is reopening!
We are thrilled to announce that renovations are complete at Ascot Vale Library and the branch will reopen on Monday 28 July.
While the historic facade of the building has been retained and refreshed, the interior has been transformed and extended into a welcoming, sustainable, and accessible space that supports learning, creative programs and community events.
The new building boasts three times the floorspace over two levels, with meeting rooms, space for events, more study areas, internal and external public toilets, public kitchenette, open air balcony, DDA compliant lift, and a Changing Places bathroom.
We can’t wait to show you!
As we prepare to move back, please be aware that the Pop-up Branch on Ascot Vale Road will be closed from 1pm on Saturday 19 July. There will be no library services in Ascot Vale between Sunday 20 July and Sunday 27 July inclusive.
During this week:
- The return chute at the Pop-up Branch will be closed from Saturday 19 July.
- Items on loan from Ascot Vale will not be due until after the Union Road branch has reopened but can be returned to any Moonee Valley Libraries branch if preferred.
- Reserved items will be held until after the reopening.
- Storytime sessions will cease at Crown Street Stables after Thursday 24 July, recommencing at 165 Union Road from Monday 28 July.
- All other Moonee Valley Libraries branches will be open as usual.
We have loved our time at the Pop-up on Ascot Vale Road, and our visits to Crown Street Stables, but now it is time to head back home.
See you at 165 Union Road very soon!
This redevelopment project has been supported by Moonee Valley City Council and the Victorian Government, through the Living Libraries Infrastructure Program and the Changing Places Program.
