Panel meets to plan the future for Moonee Valley

Community Advisory Panel MV2040 09112024

Our new Community Advisory Panel met last Saturday 9 November to start considering and making recommendations on the future of Moonee Valley.

The Panel considered the following question:

Much about our lifestyles has changed since MV2040 was developed six years ago. What, if anything, needs to change in the community vision to reflect the community’s aspirations and needs for the future?

Panel members spent the morning at Djerring Flemington Hub working through a series of demographic questions learning about the group members and then moved to considering unconscious bias and critical thinking to support their work.

The group began building their ‘wall of insights’ by identifying what their vision was for Moonee Valley in 2040. They identified their aspirations for the future.

The afternoon was full of lively discussion with CEO Helen Sui and senior Council staff who discussed what the key data is telling us about the themes of MV2040: Fair, Thriving, Connected, Green, Beautiful.

All were left excited to meet this Saturday 16 November with futurist Simon Waller to consider what is likely to influence Moonee Valley into the future.

Thankful for the wonderful coffee cart and catering teams for keeping everyone energised and well-fed.
