Cr Rose Iser elected Mayor of Moonee Valley
Myrnong Ward Councillor Rose Iser was tonight elected the Mayor of Moonee Valley City Council.
Mayor Iser said she was honoured to be elected Mayor for the first time and looked forward to continuing to represent the Moonee Valley community in her new capacity.
“I am proud to have the support of my fellow Councillors to lead Moonee Valley over the next year,” Mayor Iser said.
“I am looking forward to working alongside CEO Helen Sui, the whole executive team and our council officers, to keep building a stronger Moonee Valley community.
“With a refreshed long-term strategy and community vision to guide our decision making, it’s a great time to be living and working in our municipality.
“As always, my focus will be to advocate in the best interests of our community. I encourage you to reach out to me, or to other councillors, if you have an idea, question or concern.
“I would also like to thank the previous Mayor, Cr Ava Adams, and former Deputy Mayor, Cr Fran Cosgriff for their leadership over the past year. This term of Council has been productive and collaborative, and they should be congratulated for their contribution.”
Fairbairn Ward Councillor Phil Burn was elected Deputy Mayor.
