Avondale Heights and Sam Merrifield (Moonee Ponds) Libraries will open from 9am to 8pm on Friday, 9 January.
Visit the Libraries website for a full list of opening hours over the coming days.
Djerring Flemington Hub will also be extending opening hours and welcoming the community into its air-conditioned spaces until 8pm on Friday, 9 January.
Our swimming pools are another great option for staying cool, visit Move Moonee Valley for locations and opening hours.
Staying cool and hydrated is especially important during extreme heat. Better Health has helpful tips on looking after yourself, recognising the signs of heat-related illness, and checking in on family, friends and neighbours to make sure everyone is doing okay.
