FREE Green Living webinars to improve home sustainability

Free Green Living webinars on home sustainability

Looking for ways you can reduce your carbon footprint and become a friend of the planet?

Through Council’s Green Living program,  budget is allocated each year to run community information sessions on aspects of sustainability that are relevant for our residents – this is part of our commitment (and MV2040 target) to reduce community carbon emissions.

In doing so, residents are able to join in on online information sessions on home sustainability. These free webinar sessions are available to residents and are hosted by expert sustainability consultancy, Renew. Council has engaged Renew in the past to provide one on one tailored energy advice for residents. This year we have, in partnership with the WAGA councils, engaged Renew to run a series of webinars on key energy saving, emissions reduction, and green living topics for residents.

What is WAGA?

WAGA stands for the Western Alliance for Greenhouse Action. It is a group of Councils in Melbourne’s west, including Moonee Valley, Maribyrnong, Brimbank, and Melton. Together, WAGA run cross Council projects to respond to the Climate Emergency. Moonee Valley are also currently working with WAGA on how we can best support local businesses to be more sustainable and cut energy costs.

What is covered in the sessions?

There are a number of topics relevant to living sustainably and being environmentally conscious. The Green Living webinars will cover topics such as:

  • Electricity reduction in the home
  • Energy efficiency throughout the seasons
  • Solar power and battery usage
  • Buying GreenPower
  • and so much more!
