Highball Stadium Expressions of Interest Open

Our vision for Moonee Valley is a city with opportunities for thriving sport and active recreation hubs which empower our community to be healthy, and therefore improve our overall wellbeing.
Investing in the future of sports for our community is critical to create a healthy, vibrant and inclusive city into the future. The development of a highball stadium in Moonee Valley is going to be an investment in the health and economic development of the north-west region, which has been identified as a key growth area for highball sports within Melbourne by both the State and Federal Government.
We are at an advanced stage in investigating the possibility of constructing a competition compliant six-court highball facility in Moonee Valley. This will help to grow the number of indoor sports facilities within our municipality in the future.
We are also opening an Expression of Interest (EOI) process to establish whether Council may be able to partner with the private sector to deliver a highball stadium through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement. This aims to provide Council with significant financial and service delivery benefits.
We are releasing an invitation to the market seeking proposals from the private sector to participate in the EOI process. Currie & Brown, a project management and advisory consultant has been appointed to manage the process on our behalf, and a copy of the invitation can be viewed on our Tenders page.
We are very excited by the potential opportunities this EOI process may reveal, and we look forward to bring you future updates on the outcome of this arrangement.
EOI Closing Date: Sunday, 1 October 2023
