Neighbourhood Spirit Awards

Nominate someone for an award

The 2020 Neighbourhood Spirit Awards were due to be presented at the Neighbour Day Community Picnic on 29 March. Unfortunately due to the current state of emergency regarding COVID-19, this event was cancelled and the announcements did not take place.

We are very pleased to now make these announcements and present our 2020 Neighbourhood Spirit Award winners, including the 2020 Citizen of the Year. Our Councillors have prepared special video messages to announce each winner.

Congratulations 2020 Neighbourhood Spirit award winners

The Moonee Valley Neighbourhood Spirit Awards are Council’s opportunity to celebrate those who have contributed to their local community across Moonee Valley’s 13 neighbourhoods.

The community have submitted nominations from all corners of the City. These nominations were assessed by the Neighbourhood Spirit Special Committee. We would like to thank and congratulate all of the nominees for making a difference in their neighbourhood.

It is with great pleasure that we announce the 13 recipients of the 2020 Neighbourhood Spirit Awards.

Do you know someone who makes your neighbourhood a better place? Then tell us about them!

The Moonee Valley Neighbourhood Spirit Awards celebrates those who have contributed to their local community!

We want to recognise people across our city who are making a difference to others – big or small.

You can nominate an individual or community group as long as they:

  • Live, work, study or play in Moonee Valley
  • Are not a direct relation to a Councillor
  • Are not a Moonee Valley City Council staff member or current/former Councillor

The Moonee Valley Neighbourhood Spirit Award winners will be announced in March 2021.
