Incinerator Gallery is excited to call for applications for the 10th annual Incinerator Art Award.

A nationally recognised exhibition that celebrates the crucial role art plays for contemporary Australian audiences, the award invites artists to respond to the theme of ‘Art for Social Change’.

Applications are invited from both emerging and established artists from all over Australia, until Tuesday, 30 April.

With a total prize pool of $12,000, the Incinerator Art Award offers three prestigious awards:  the $10,000 Incinerator Art Award, the $1,000 Moonee Valley Mayoral Award and the $1,000 People’s Choice Award.

Shortlisted artists will have their artworks displayed in the gallery for the Incinerator Art Award 2024 exhibition. The opening night on Friday, 13 September will see the announcement of the Incinerator Art Award and Moonee Valley Mayoral Award winners.

“The Incinerator Art Award serves as a testament to our community’s commitment to fostering creativity and meaningful dialogue,” said Moonee Valley City Council Mayor, Cr Pierce Tyson.

“As a Council we are proud to support initiatives like this that showcase the diverse talents of Australian artists while championing the vital role of art in shaping our society for the better.”

Applications Open: Monday, 1 April at 12am
Applications Close: Tuesday, 30 April at 11:59pm
Exhibition Opening Night and Awards: Friday, 13 September, 6pm
