International Women’s Day in Moonee Valley 2024

A slide that says 'Moonee Valley City Council: International Women's Day' followed by smaller text saying 'Count her in: Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress. Join us in championing women in the valley.'

Introducing the 2024 ‘Moonee Valley IWD Series’, celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) with a series of diverse and engaging events throughout March 2024.

We are showcasing events, initiatives and activities happening across our city over the next 10 days – to recognise International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month.

This year’s UN Women Theme, Count Her In: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress,’ calls for global action to acknowledge the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women while fostering equality and opportunity. This theme is based on the United Nations 68th Commission on the Status of Women priority theme ‘Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective’.

Read on to find out how you can get involved in IWD events across our city.
