Keep the kids entertained with these school holiday activities

Moonee Valley City Council is offering a range free or low-cost activities for our youngest residents these school holidays.
Below are just some of the opportunities available to families over the two-week break. Which ones will we see you at?
Hop on down to the Clocktower Centre
There are few things more exciting than an outing to the theatre. Thanks to the Clocktower Centre, we have a world-class performance venue in our own backyard. These holidays, audiences will be charmed by Wobbly Wallaby and the Absolute Bandicoot on 20 September, and The Velveteen Rabbit on 27 September. And for our 3-5-year-olds who dream of the spotlight, the Australian Ballet will present the interactive Dancing Story session on 17 September. Visit the Clocktower Centre website to secure your seats.
Bedtime storytime
Family friendly movie screening
Our libraries are rolling out the red carpet these holidays for several family screenings of popular film, Dog Man. Based on the graphic novel series by Dave Pilkey, join Dog Man on his quest to liberate the mean streets of Ohkay City from evil tabby cat Petey.
Get crafty!
Our Libraries and leisure centres have a range of activities for young people this school holidays, especially for those kids who like getting creative. Attendees can choose to weave a wooden star, craft their very own magic wand or fashion a stylish bracelet. Explore the full range of activities here.
Buckle up at Essendon Traffic School
Bring your own bike and take to the miniature streets at Essendon Traffic School, where young people learn how to interact with pedestrian crossings, intersections, traffic lights and roundabouts. Often reserved for private bookings, there are a number of public sessions available in September and October. Bookings are essential.
Last chance for The Playground Project Melbourne
Moonee Valley must bid farewell this October to The Playground Project Melbourne – the blockbuster travelling exhibition all about the history of the humble playground. Since opening in June, thousands of families have already explored the large-scale playgrounds installed inside and outside Incinerator Gallery on Holmes Road, Aberfeldie. We’ve even extended opening hours during the holiday period, from 10am to 4pm. Avoid missing out and book your spot today.
