Keep young minds busy this winter school break

The winter school holidays are nearly here and there is some serious fun on the way for kids and young adults across Moonee Valley.

Moonee Valley Mayor Samantha Byrne said kids of all ages will love what’s in store, with loads of hands-on activities and opportunities to try something new.

“As the temperature drops, finding ways to keep young minds busy during the holidays can often be a challenge. We have a great range of free and low-cost programs running throughout the winter break, to keep kids of all ages entertained,” Mayor Byrne said.

“Budding inventors will get the chance to build a chain reaction machine out of recycled materials at the performing arts roadshow, while our Grassroots Group will spread the joy of growing beautiful natives at our planting day.”

As NAIDOC Week falls within the school holiday period, there will also be lots of opportunities to celebrate indigenous culture with a flag raising ceremony, bush bouquet making, Dreamtime stories and more.
