Keilor Road Streetscape Plan Finalised
The Keilor Road Streetscape Plan, for a section between Hoffmans Road and Cooper Street, in Essendon North, has now been finalised following two rounds of community consultation that were carried out in late 2022 and mid-2023 (see Community Engagement Report here).
When we asked the community what they would like to see in the new streetscape, there was an overwhelming desire expressed for more greenery, including canopy street tree planting. In addition to greenery, there were also requests for more seating and gathering spaces for the community.
The feedback from the community and stakeholders have informed the final streetscape plan completed in June 2023 (see final Streetscape Plan here).
We are delighted to be able to deliver a streetscape plan that focuses on:
- Increased greenery
- Improved pedestrian safety
- Creation of a pedestrian friendly environment
- Rationalise and declutter the existing streetscape
- Consistent look and feel along Keilor Road
Detail design phase for this section of Keilor Road will commence in financial year 23/24.
