Join our LGBTIQA+ Reference Group and be heard!
We’re looking for community members to help us shine in rainbow colours!
The LGBTIQA+ Reference Group offers advice and guidance to Council, ensuring our decisions are inclusive to everyone in our community. The group works together to decide what issues impact this community and determines how Council can actively provide support.
As the voice of the LGBTIQA+ community you’ll help make Moonee Valley a safe and welcoming city to all.
Who can join the LGBTIQA+ Reference Group?
We aim to have a balanced representation of individuals in the group and value the voices of those with lived experiences. You can join if you live, work or spend time in Moonee Valley, identify as LGBTIQA+ or are an ally.
We’re looking to create a committee that reflects the diverse experiences of LGBTIQA+ people in our City including:
- people from diverse backgrounds
- people with a disability
- people of a variety of ages (there is no minimum age)
- people from different locations across the municipality and beyond
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
This is a unique opportunity for community members to strengthen our diversity.
