Join us for the Midsumma Pride March 2023
Moonee Valley City Council are proud to announce that we will be taking part in the 2023 Midsumma Pride March and you’re invited! 🏳️🌈
Join us and march with pride down Fitzroy Street in a kilometre-long parade route to Catani Gardens, St Kilda on Sunday, 5 February 2023.
An essential pre-event briefing session will be held on Tuesday, 24 January 2023 from 5.30 to 6.30pm. Key details including the time, on-the-day arrangements and meeting place for the march will only be confirmed at the briefing session, so please register for the march and join us for the pre-event briefing session via Eventbrite.

What’s new from the Moonee Valley Pride Reference Group
The MV Pride Reference Group has had their last meeting for 2022, where they reflected on the year that was, the progress that has been made and discussed their plans for the future, continuing their efforts to ensure that Moonee Valley is loud and proud! Renewing Council’s Rainbow Tick accreditation
Council are looking to renew our Rainbow Tick accreditation in 2023. We are also continuing to work with the MV Pride Reference Group to develop the Roadmap to Pride, our plan for the LGBTQIA+ community, which will be informed by the Pride In Our Future strategy, a State Government initiative.
Rainbow Valley programs for young people
Rainbow Valley is Moonee Valley’s social group for young people aged 12 to25 years who are LGBTQIA+, questioning people and/or allies. The group had their last hang out for the year at the Victorian Pride Centre to watch a film as part of Melbourne Queer Film Festival. Rainbow Valley are currently planning their program for 2023 and are excited for a combination of artist and activist talks, service visits and excursions. The Snazzy Creators Society for young people
The Snazzy Creators Society for young people aged 12 to 25 have also finished up for the year and are recharging their creative energies before returning on 12 January 2023. The Snazzy Creators Society is a drop-in space run by young LGBTQIA+ people of Moonee Valley, for young people of Moonee Valley! If you’re an LGBTQIA+ young person or ally, and like creative writing and art then The Snazzy Creators Society is the place for you!
