Media release | Casey Donovan among Aussie entertainment icons at Clocktower Centre in 2026

Singer Casey Donovan performs on a stage on NYE, pointing to crowd and wearing sparking mini dress.

National treasure and powerhouse vocalist Casey Donovan will join a star-studded season of entertainment at The Clocktower Centre in 2026, a year that will also bring to Moonee Valley some of our country’s best-loved and most enduring performers.

More than 20 years after she won hearts as the winner of Australian Idol, Casey Donovan has amassed an impressive theatrical resume and cemented herself as an icon of New Year’s Eve entertainment. Her new show, THIS IS ME, brings to Moonee Valley City Council highlights from The Sapphires, We Will Rock You, Chicago, 9 To 5, & Juliet and Sister Act, alongside NYE favourites and never-before-heard original songs.

Oz music lovers can expect a different side of The Whitlams’ frontman Tim Freedman at an intimate solo show Moonlit Deck, as he explores the untold stories behind some of his most loved songs. Everyone’s favourite sister act, Vika and Linda, will bring their signature blend of harmonies and storytelling back to the Clocktower stage.

Get to know some of Australia’s most influential women when musical theatre’s Rachael Beck performs In Their Own Words, weaving anecdotes from the likes of Ita Buttrose, Marcia Langton and Carlotta, with the music of famous Australian songwriters such as Missy Higgins, Kate Miller-Heidke and Kate Ceberano.

And there’s more where that came from! As Moonee Valley City Council’s premiere performing arts venue, The Clocktower Centre will welcome an abundance of world-class theatre, dance and music:

  • Of the Land on which We Meet, Na Djinang Circus’ bringing together of Indigenous Australian, migrant, and colonial histories in one physical theatre performance
  • Flexible Sky, the season opener that sees Guitar virtuoso Slava Grigoryan join the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra
  • Dust, the story of one man’s survival against the backdrop of post-World War II England
  • Beyond the Neck, playwright Tom Holloway’s profoundly compassionate portrait of a community living with loss
  • Temple of Desire, a sumptuous and subversive Indian dance piece that even invites audiences to stay behind for the afterparty!

Our family program makes the Clocktower a school holidays must-visit. Junkyard Beats are sure to make some noise in April, transforming ordinary household items into extraordinary musical instruments. Beloved dog Spot pays us a visit in June while The Teeny Tiny Stevies are ready to delight littlies and parents alike in September.

The entertainment doesn’t stop there: the ever-popular monthly Morning Music brings the likes of stage and screen legends Gerry Connolly, Ian Stenlake and Bernadette Robinson right to our doorstep.

Moonee Valley City Council Mayor Dr Rose Iser invited Clocktower regulars and first-time guests to join in the season.

“We welcome everyone to connect with the arts, as both creators and audience, through our program of shows in 2026,” she said.

“As a theatre lover and creator, I know the power of the performing arts to challenge, heal, restore, transfix, connect, inspire and relax all of us.

“Our Clocktower theatre is steeped in history, and also the perfect place for cutting-edge performances. You’ll find something for all artistic tastes in our 2026 program.”
