We’re just five sleeps away from the return of the mighty – and mightily missed! – Moonee Valley Festival this Saturday, 24 February!

Six years since it last took over Queens Park, Moonee Valley Festival is ready to make up for lost time, with double the fun across two epic events designed to get families flocking by day, and feet dancing into the night!

To welcome back the free festival to its traditional home in the heart of Moonee Ponds, this year’s event will be a jam-packed day and night out, spread across 11 hours in two distinct events that will finish on a sizzling high with a set from award-winning Aboriginal Australian electronic duo Electric Fields.

The fun begins at 10am when Moonee Valley Festival takes over picturesque Queens Park. Bring the family – and your appetites! – for a day of delicious food and market stalls, and free family-friendly activities and entertainment from artists including comedy duo The Listies and the all-singing and dancing Team Dream.

Then, stay to play! After 5pm, the festival transforms into Moonee Valley After Dark. As the sun sets, a section of Queens Park will become a magical wonderland of illuminations, live music and DJs that will keep the party alive well into the night.

Joining the electro-soul stylings of Electric Fields will be ‘90s Australian pop sensation Joanne (get ready for Jack-Jack-Jackie), Naarm-based DJ Aqueerius, special guest host (and RuPaul Drag Race Down Under finalist) Karen from Finance and more on the ‘Trucked Up’ stage.

City of Moonee Valley Mayor, Cr Pierce Tyson, said the return of Moonee Valley Festival for the first time since 2018 was something the community and Council were united in welcoming back.

“This is going to be a day and night for the ages,” Mayor Tyson said. “The Moonee Valley Festival has been an institution in our community and we’re bringing it back – bigger and better than ever.”
